How to Remember Information

Everyone’s brain works differently, but these methods can help you retain what you study longer.

Feynman Method

After studying a topic, pretend you’re teaching it to a friend who knows nothing about it. If you can explain it clearly, you truly understand it.

Repetition

Go over your notes multiple times. The more often you review something, the more your brain remembers it.

Audio Notes

Record yourself explaining what you learned, then listen to it while walking or relaxing. Hearing your own voice helps memory stick.

Flashcards

Write key terms or questions on flashcards (or use Quizlet). Quiz yourself until you can answer confidently.

Turn It Into A Song

Create a rhyme or short tune with key facts. It might sound silly, but music helps your brain remember information faster.

Break It Down

If something feels overwhelming, divide it into smaller topics. Focus on mastering one section at a time instead of trying to learn everything at once.

3-2-1 Recall Method

Read your notes 3 times. Try to recall key points 2 times. Write down everything you remember 1 time without looking.

Study Hacks That Actually Work

Use Color

Make your notes colorful: use highlights, colored pens, and drawings, this will make it easier to recall details.

Use Mnemonic Devices

Create phrases or acronyms to remember tricky info. (Like PEMDAS in math)

Cheat Sheet

Write down all the information you don't know on an index card. Use it to practice and study information as if you were going to use it on the test. Before the test, review it, then throw it away. This will help you remember the information.

Make Practice Tests

Reuse your old quizzes or create practice questions. Testing yourself helps you learn better than just rereading notes.

How to Finish Homework Faster

Homework doesn’t have to take all night! These small changes can help you finish quicker and stay focused.

01

Make a homework list

Write down everything you need to do and mark it off as you go.

02

Estimate your time

Guess how long each assignment will take so you can plan your study session.

03

Gather your materials

Before starting, get all your notebooks, pens, and devices ready so you don’t waste time looking for them later.

04

Remove distractions

Silence your phone or use an app like “Forest” to stay focused. Make sure to work in a quiet, distraction-free zone.

05

Start with easy tasks

Completing quick assignments first gives you momentum.

06

Use the “2-minute rule”

If a task takes under 2 minutes, do it immediately.

07

Time yourself.

  1. Try the Pomodoro method — work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break.

08

Reward Yourself

When you finish your work, take time to relax or do something fun. You earned it!
